Mission Pilot (MP) Aircrew Rating

MP Prerequisites

  1. MS Qualification Current (MO training recommended)

  2. CAP VFR Pilot (Form-5) Qualification Current

  3. TMP Qualified and 175hr PIC to train.

FEMA Course

  1. IS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents course

  2. FEMA will email your completion certificate as a PDF file. Save it to your computer for upload to eServices.

  3. Manually upload at OpsQuals>Emergency Services>SQTR Entry/Worksheet.

    • Click "View/Upload Documents" to display the upload window.

    • Select "IS-200" from the drop down list.

    • Browse to the location of your saved certificate (PDF file).

    • Press "Upload ES Files" button.

Hands-On Training

Note: You cannot fly as a MP Trainee until your prerequisites and Familiarization & Preparatory SQTR tasks are approved by your Commander.

  1. Study the Mission Aircrew Task Guide for task guides specific to the MP rating and the Operational Mission Inflight Guide.

  2. After completing a task with a MP Skills Evaluator/Trainer (SET), update your SQTR worksheet page.

  3. After completing all tasks, 200hr PIC, and two training sorties as a MP Trainee; you can schedule your CAPF 70-91 (form 91) with any AZ Wing MP Check Pilot.

Form 91 Evaluation/Checkride

  1. Bring the following items with you on the day of your Form 91 checkride.

    • Current VFR Sectional and Gridded Sectional for the local area.

    • Completed Aircraft Weight & Balance.

    • FAA Pilot license and Medical certificate.

    • Pilot Logbook (BFR, passenger currency, etc).

    • CAPID and CAPF 101 cards.

    • CAPF 70-91 with top portion filled out.

    • Headset and appropriate uniform.

  2. After completion of your Form 91 checkride, scan and upload your validated CAPF 70-91 form and enter the date at OpsQuals>Pilot>MissionPilot.

    • Upload form by clicking on the "View/Upload Documents" link.

    • From the "Pilot" tab, select "Form 91" from the drop down list.

    • "Browse" to file location and press "Upload Pilot Files" button.

    • After upload, enter "Form 91 Date" and "Mission Check Pilot Name" from check pilot dropdown list.

    • Press "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.

  3. Remember to also enter your Form 91 date in your MP-SAR/DR Mission Pilot SQTR Entry/Worksheet and "Submit" for Wing approval.

The SAR/DR Mission Pilot's #1 duty is to fly in a safe and proficient manner!

Note: Within 24 hours of approval, your pending SQTR status will change to "Approved" with an expiration date of 2 years or your form-5 expiration, whichever comes first.

  1. Print your CAPF 101-Operational Specialty Qualification Card.

  2. Always carry it with you. You will need to present a current 101 card and CAPID card in order to fly on any missions.

  3. MP Qualification can be renewed biannually by completing subsequent Form 91 checkrides.
