Hands-On Training

Note: You cannot fly as a MS Trainee until your prerequisites and Familiarization & Preparatory SQTR tasks are approved by your Commander.

  1. Study the Mission Aircrew Task Guide for task guides specific to the MS rating.

  2. After completing a task with a MS Skills Evaluator/Trainer (SET), update your SQTR worksheet page.

  3. After completing all SQTR tasks and two training sorties as a MS Trainee, you can submit the worksheet for Wing approval.

The Mission Scanner is the most important aircrew role!

Note: Within 24 hours of approval, your pending SQTR status will change to "Approved" with an expiration date of 3 years.

  1. Print out your CAPF 101-Operational Specialty Qualification Card.

  2. Always carry it with you. You will need to present a current 101 card and CAPID card in order to fly on any missions.

  3. Repeat only the “Advanced” tasks of the SQTR worksheet, and fly two evaluated sorties as MS, to requalify prior to expiration.
